Women’s Cancer Screenings

Screenings for breast cancer and cervical cancer are available at the Martin County Health Department every Tuesday.

During the screening, eligible women between the ages of 21 and 64 will be able to have an annual exam including a pap smear, pelvic exam and clinical breast exam performed by a registered nurse. The screening is sponsored by the Martin County Public Health Coalition.

To be eligible for the screening, women must be between the ages of 21 and 64, have an income below 250 percent of the federal poverty guidelines (currently $27,075 annually for a single-person household and $55,125 annually for a four-person household), and not be enrolled in a private health insurance plan, Medicare or Medicaid.

Appointments are required, and women are asked to schedule their appointment in advance by calling the Martin County Health Department at 298-7752.
